This denim hanten jacket was designed and woven by hand in my atelier in Amsterdam.
The bottom part of this minimal piece is hand woven in the traditional Japanese craft of Sakiori, using denim waste and scraps of fabrics to create a rich fabric in all its different shades of blue. Each piece of fabric was cut into straps, sewn and woven with care to create a unique range of shades complementing each other.
The top part of this jacket is made of a deep blue denim, slightly distressed to give it a rich hand feel and matching the rugged look of the Sakiori work.
 
The collar is made with a contrasting deep blue corduroy.
Many hours of work went into weaving this unique, making it one of a kind.
