Keel is inspired by Japanese Monpe work trousers, loose, comfortable, and easy to move in.
Made entirely by hand from reclaimed cotton, these pants are hand-dyed in natural indigo and hand-embroidered using Sashiko, specifically the Kogurizashi turtle-shell pattern. The embroidery adds texture, depth, and a quiet nod to fishermen’s nets.
The design plays with stripes and asymmetry : one leg has vertical stripes along the side, while the other has horizontal stripes at the hem.
Stripe widths vary, echoing the Marinière’s rhythm and creating movement across the surface of the fabric.
Two front pockets provide practical detail.
The waist is fully adjustable, with straps that allow you to tie the pants in the front by wrapping them around the hips or lower waist for a comfortable, customizable fit.
The silhouette is wide and relaxed, designed for comfort without losing shape.
Keel will develop a beautiful patina over time : the indigo naturally softens and fades with sunlight and wear, giving each pair its own unique life.
