One-of-a-Kind Handwoven Ragweave Jacket with Sashiko Embroidery.
Woven by hand. Stitched with intention. Made to last.
The Tidewalk Jacket is a one-of-a-kind wearable artwork, handcrafted over the course of 7 days using traditional textile techniques and reclaimed materials.
The body is made from fabric I wove myself using a rag weaving technique, cutting and preparing strips of old cotton sheets in varying shades of indigo and deep blue to create a rich, textural surface with depth and movement, like looking into the sea.
The sleeves and collar are built from a patchwork of canvas, each piece chosen for its tone and grain, and hand embroidered with various Sashiko patterns in white thread a quiet homage to traditional Japanese mending and resilience.
The jacket is fully lined with a strong navy cotton, and finished with three pockets: two front patch pockets and one hidden breast pocket inside.
Navy buttons are secured with white contrast thread, a small detail that echoes the stitching on the sleeves.
