Inspired by rural life from another time,

the collection "Into The Land" tells a story of strength,

resilience and femininity through craftsmanship.

To illustrate this tale, the designer chose to give her polished ornamental embroideries a raw look using the waste of the fashion industry.

​

A transformation of simple cotton fabrics like

thrifted table cloths, linens and discarded jeans from everyday textile waste into one of a kind pieces.

​

Through her collection, Sophie Cagniart aims to introduce

the potential of crafts and textile manipulation like

Sashiko embroidery,

Sakiori weaving,

hand smocking and dyeing.

​

All of which allow her to create different textures and patterns that

she combines in feminine designs, giving the simplest fabrics a rich

hand feel as well as an intricate look.
