using traditional Sashiko techniques.

Next date : Saturday, 2nd of May 2026

Date & Time: Saturday 2nd of May, 5 PM Amsterdam time (CET/CEST)
Duration: 3 hours
Place: Online, Microsoft Teams via 'The Stitching Practice'
Capacity: 8–10 participants
Price: €50

What makes this workshop different

This is not a “quick craft class.” It’s a complete introduction to Sashiko as a technique and tradition.
Together, we’ll explore:

  • The history and cultural context of Sashiko.

  • The materials — which fabrics, threads, and needles work best, and why.

  • How to use each tool in the most efficient, traditional way.

  • The structure of Sashiko patterns: how to read, deconstruct, and rebuild them.

By the end, you won’t just follow a design — you’ll understand how Sashiko works, and you’ll feel confident continuing on your own.
